Aarvak Artist Interviews

These interviews are specifically designed to generate dealer and consumer interest in the specific product lines represented and discussed in the contents of the article. These 'third party endorsement' articles are used by equipment manufacturers as industry trade and music enthusiast magazine 'propaganda'. Otherwise, the article is used in 'advertorial'-style product literature. Artist interviews images

Many of the artist interviews appearing on the following pages were produced under contract for various manufacturers of pro audio equipment and musical instruments. I would not hesitate to doubt that the names of these musicians - Horn Family, Ben and Leo Sidran, Wayne and Lynne Linsey, etc. - might not be household names to many. It is interesting to note, these individuals make up the core of the music industry, as they are professional back-up musicians who tour with some of the world's leading performers, such as Steve Miller, Whitney Houston, Kenny Loggins, The Jackson's and others.

Manufacturers of musical equipment rely on the words of these pros - even though they are not 'everyday' known names - because these individuals earn their livelihood through the use of said audio equipment, while performing and recording with well known celebrities. For the most part, every up-and-coming musician wants to be a well known celebrity, where all of the world knows his name and face. But, for every Garth Brooks-status mega-star, there are 10,000 working musicians who are unknown to almost everyone, except other adept musicians. For the more down-to-earth, 'reality-based' musician, who just wants to earn a living playing or producing music, he (or she), is more interested in what other musicians of their ilk are using as their audio tools, in their own studios or performing situations. These 'soft sell' advertorial articles educate, by telling a 'how to' story, while subtly pitching a product.

(Other artist interviews I have written were produced with no preconceived, overt 'corporate' intentions. These interviews, produced for my own personal satisfaction, are with some of the world's leading bass guitarists, who perform with some of the most well known rock bands in America - if not the world. As a frustrated, semi-pro bassist myself, I have personally found it to be very interesting, and gratifying, to meet and talk to those who have been fortunate enough to figure out how to play guitar - bass guitar, no less - full-time and get paid for it).
