Sacred Love - Nominated as CD of the Year, Best New Artist, Best World Music CD, and
February 18, 2011, Marin County, California – Shambhu’s debut CD, Sacred Love, has been receiving stellar reviews since its release in October 2010. The 12-track disc, on which Shambhu collaborated with Grammy award-winning producer Will Ackerman, founder of Windham Hill Records and Grammy award-winning engineer Corin Nelsen, has also just been nominated for CD of the Year, Best New Artist, Best World Music CD and Best Acoustic Instrumental CD by Zone Music Reporter. These prestigious nominations, voted by radio broadcasters worldwide, are high honors for the Marin resident, which came soon after Sacred Lovehit #1 on the ZMR World/New Age/Ambient radio charts, and Marin’s very own Common Ground Magazine called Sacred Love "One of the best of the year (or any year!)"
Shambhu’s mastery of the guitar and compositional elegance enable delicate expressions of nuance and subtlety while engaging audiences in deep spirit music that listeners find healing, soulful and reflective. With the economy faltering in 2010, Shambhu decided to embark on a journey that many would have considered unthinkable. Putting his public relations business on the side for a year, he assembled the creative team and all-star artists behind Sacred Love, thereby finally realizing his life's passion of creating a CD of his own music, and dedicated this effort to his 87-year-old mother who did not expect to live through the making of the CD due to health issues. Thankfully she is still alive enjoying this music, the realization of her dream, too.
